A trip to iFLY will allow my students to be able to learn about force and motion, fluids and solids and to explore the engineering design process. In the lab experiment, students work in small groups to investigate and design parachutes. They practice skills like observation, hypothesizing, gathering data and making conclusions. iFLY is a hands-on, full body STEM experience that will help reinforce the concepts I am teaching in the classroom. My students will practice the process skills that are a vital part of learning science. Hands-on experiments like these allow students to experience science the way real scientist do, through asking questions and exploring their own ideas.
