Technology continues to be the wave of the future in education. Even though it changes rapidly, it has proven constant through the years as a way of reaching students. Technology will take my students on a journey across the world; exposing them to knowledge, they would have never otherwise experienced. My students do not have technology or internet at home, so they treasure the opportunity to learn online. The requested Chromebooks will be used at a Research Center, during paired learning, Expert Groups and many other similar learning scenarios. We often do research for our project based learning Garden. We have grown our own carrots, cauliflower, herbs, and greens. I would love to be able to expand how we use our garden through technology research. Paired learning is a valuable tool in our classroom. When learners can turn and talk to their neighbor about the concept or topic online, a deeper level of learning occurs. Students also work in Expert Groups where they are able to do Expert Projects further developing their knowledge base. I am also creating a project based learning "school store" that my students will run so the Chromebooks will be essential to this project. The possibilities with technology are endless and the student's Future appears as "bright and shiny" as these "Chromebooks".
