Ever have a kid who just can't sit still? As teachers, we have all had one (or 5) of those kids, and just as soon as you succeed in getting them to sit in a chair, they are up and moving AGAIN! Flexible seating to the rescue! Not only do flexible seating options allow kids to move while they learn, but they also help students build meta-cognitive skills as they learn about HOW they learn, learning what their process is and what works best for them. I have always felt teaching my students how to advocate for their needs is one of the most important factors in their long-term success. My kiddos often need tools and strategies outside the realm of what's typically available to them. Flexible seating is one strategy that is both helpful AND fun! Help give my students the gift of choice, comfort, movement, and sensory input on their learning journey!
