The fidgets and whiteboards will be extremely helpful during independent work time. Many students in my class use fidgets to help with self-regulation strategies, but we don't have enough in my classroom to meet the needs of all of my students! The fidgets will help our students stay focused so that they can learn academic and life skills. Additionally, the games will help with social-emotional skills and the oils will help with some of the smells that accompany potty training! Autism classrooms frequently use visual aids to assist students who are non-verbal or who have a hard time with expressive language. We would like to use more visual aids in our classroom to help out some of our students, but the aids can be expensive to make. They require ink, lamination sheets, and different ways to hang them up. We hope to make communication necklaces and visual schedules for our classroom with your help!
