Reading is fundamental and key to success for students in school, doing it in another language is even more rewarding as it boosts the intelligence factor. When learning two languages, the students think using the two mediums when they are trying to solve problems in general or at school in particular. They acquire two sets of parameters which allows them to apply them to their ability to deal with different situations in school or later in real life. My students are opening their eyes on another world (the francophone world), reading these stories will help them learn about other cultures and will, also, help them in better understanding their own culture.
