The items that I am requesting will be used several times a week in my classroom. This will be our second year using Phenomena based learning and it is very important for students to visually see how things work. For instance, students might be learning about metabolism during a particular week. After covering the topic and students begin to understand, they will then use the iPads in groups to complete simulations and task on the iPad to gain a deeper understanding of the metabolism topic and see exactly how it works. It can be very difficult to get technology in my science classroom consistently, because there is a stronger need in other subjects. Science is definitely a class that students absolutely love and I want to ensure that they receive the full experience of the curriculum that we are using. Not only will the IPad’s be used for simulations, but they will be used for activities where students will move in groups and have to complete various assignments in order to learn which we call stations.
