A class set of headphones will allow students to conduct research without disrupting others. We have tried spreading out in the room and keeping the volume low, but it always disrupts someone or is too soft for the student to properly hear the information. Often my younger students also need assistance with reading higher level texts. Most of our sites allow voice readings, having headphones will allow the younger students to listen privately without disrupting others as they conduct research. Additionally, students like to use videos about assigned, or chosen, topics which are not the same for the entire class.
