These novels will serve to enhance the limited novel selection that we have access to within our English department for students studying American Literature. My goal is to provide an option that my students will find relevant to their lives, and one that they will actually want to read! I have been paying very close attention to what my students read outside of their class assignments, and I believe this novel will be something that they will appreciate. Since many of them have so many obligations outside of the school day, the high-interest factor will be something that I feel will motivate them to read independently.
