My first grade student have been born into the digital age! Unfortunately, the technology in my classroom has not kept up with everything they can do. We use digital portfolios to record what each student has created in class. That being said, we do not have headphones with microphones so those great creations can be recorded without interference from outside noises. We do the best we can with what we have at this time, but getting headphones with microphones would really help my EL student and my not so confident readers to really expand what they are able to do. The headphones with microphones would allow my student to confidently record what they write, read, and create. My students could travel with classroom devices around the school recording activities and events. As we continue to work as a National School of Character, the student could use the new headphones to record interviews with other student that show good character. Right now, my students' voices are often drowned out by other classroom activities while they record with just the device microphone. I am excited to see what we have done in class so far expand exponentially into what they can really do! We will share our headphones with the other classes in school.
