I have been working to build my classroom library for the last four years. The books I already have, I have purchased myself either on Amazon or scrounging garage sales. It is incredibly important to have a variety of books in my classroom because I have quite a variety of students who enter my room each day. I am looking to expand my library even farther to support the needs of my students. I have worked hard to put important and entertaining books in their hands. As they continue to grow as readers, the need for more books (and duplicates of some favorite books) is necessary. As my library continues to grow, I am also running out of places to put them. I am hoping to add two additional book shelves to my library to house some of my current books and the new books I plan on adding. The best gift a teacher can receive is seeing the joy on a student's face after they have read a great book. I have paid attention to the books that my students enjoy reading, and have researched popular young adult authors. I am hoping to add books to my classroom library by the following authors: Kwame Alexander, Jewell Parker Rhodes, Tomi Adeyemi, Alan Gratz, Rachel Renee Russell, and Jeff Kinney. These are a few of my student's favorite authors. I know these new books will fly off of my shelves. The shelving units I am hoping to receive are the Furinno 1415R1WH 3-Shelf Bookcase, White. I would love to be able to meet the reading needs of all of my students, and see the excitement in their eyes when they find a new book!
