We use computers and iPads in our classroom every day to reinforce math and literacy skills. It is also the main way that my 11 special education students access the world outside of our rural community.
My 11 students are creative and energetic when it comes to learning, and they are very committed to being an active part of our classroom. Technology gives them a greater opportunity to be a valuable asset to the many discussions that we get to enjoy on a daily basis as well as giving them access to more apps that will enable higher learning. The iPads will be used in small group and whole group activities as well as on an individual basis to foster independence and a love of learning.
Without these iPads, it will be difficult for some of my students to completely access some of the amazing programs or apps that our school has generously provided for us! They deserve to be able to explore and learn on the same level as students who have this access, but are not limited by a disability. Our classroom will be greatly enhanced by the addition of iPads. All of my students will be able to access learning through technology on a daily basis!
