My project involves creating a Science/Sensory center with the use of a Sand and Sensory table. This year my students have done great in meeting expectations in Literacy and Math areas, but we don't have many resources for Science. Being that Science is such an important aspect of education, I'd like to hone in on emphasizing its importance in the classroom and having a Sand and Sensory table would help me integrate it into our Pre-K routine. Currently, my students are using a bucket with simple science tools as a sensory table. Although multiple students choose this center during their free choice center time, I only allow one student because its not large enough for 2 or more students. My students would love to have a real sensory table in which they could work with their friends and use their senses to investigate different objects. I know this project will inspire a love for Science and learning in general. :)
