My students will read the Scholastic Magazines during our science and social studies block. These magazines will help incorporate reading and writing into our science/social studies block and connect students to real world events. The magazines will also introduce my students to different types of text tied to their interests. Along with getting the chance to read about current events and the world around them, students will get practice using comprehension strategies such as main idea and details and cause and effect while reading these magazines. The magazines have comprehension questions to develop our ability to use text evidence to answer questions from the text.

About my class
