Young children need innovative places to explore the world around them. Such places allow for oral language development through social interactions and also allow for children to develop problem-solving skills. The rugs and cars will encourage play that is an exploration of community and also city life. Children will engage in math concepts, such as length and width and mapping as well as pre-reading skills with directionality practice. The rugs will be a welcome addition, as they also provide a quiet, soft space for students to go when they need some quiet time or just a place to sit and read a book.
