Students will be able to use the air compressor to dust themselves off as well as their projects. Presently we use a vacuum, but my student still leave my room looking like a dusty mess after they get done cutting and sanding. This would allow us to have a cleaner atmosphere in our classroom. My students are making CO2 race cars, CNC router designs and Styrofoam boats that makes them (and my room) extremely dusty and messy. An air compressor would be beneficial to the students by not only allowing them to clean the dust off of themselves when they are finished, but also dust their projects. This enhancement would permit the students to have a smoother project surface on which to apply finish. When we use Styrofoam to create our boats, the particles stick to the students' clothes and their projects. While the vacuum gets rid of the big particles, the small fragments remain stuck on the students and their projects which doesn't allow for a smooth look, and discolors the project as well. Allowing students to work with cleaner projects will help give them pride in their work: being able to clean themselves off will prevent them from getting embarrassed by their appearance. My students will love having something to thoroughly clean up better.
