My students are my babies! They haven’t been afforded much in life, and more than the majority are economically disadvantaged. They have to endure so much before they even make it inside our school's doors. My students are mothers and fathers to their younger siblings and a lot of undue responsibilities lay on their small shoulders. Yet in still, they walk in my room with a smile and excited greetings. My students give me their best every day even on days when they are clearly tired. They encourage me to do my best and they aren’t even aware they are doing this. The requested tablets will mostly be used for our testing done in the classroom every week or every other week depending on the level of the student. Currently, I have two computers and I have to rotate my entire class throughout the week so that we meet compliance. With these tablets, we would be able to complete this weekly within an hour or so freeing up class time for other needed tasks. Also, we would be able to utilize the tablets in both our reading and math stations. I would love to have individualized lessons that my students could keep up with routinely instead of a general reading or math on our current two computers.
