The Tier 3 students often have significant educational gaps and are performing at below grade level. Though their regular classroom teachers present grade level content for them, they struggle with understanding it because they are reading several grades below. BrainPop breaks down the content in an understandable manner. Since I tutor with them on a 1:1 basis twice a week, I check their progress in their core content. I then would assign BrainPop activities that complement their core class assignments. Once the have background knowledge, then I can tutor them with their content classes. They may have fallen behind because of mobility (gaps in their educational background), learning difficulties, and/or poverty (lack of resources) at home. Whatever the case, I help them with organizational and reading skills so that they can get caught-up in order to understand the content in their core class. I am needing a BrainPop classroom subscription for my class so to help break-down complex topics into a way they can understand through videos, activities and interactive games.
