In our photosynthesis unit, the students will learn how to grow their own salad vegetables through hydroponics. They will research different hydroponic methods and be amazed to realize how we can grow lettuce, cilantro, and peas without natural sunlight or soil! In addition to understanding photosynthesis, students will explore the Journey 2050 Sustainable Agriculture project to recognize that the world will need to produce 60 to 70% more food than we currently produce today on even less land. By using the hydroponic grow kit, our students will be able to watch their seedlings grow everyday in class. We have limited space and this kit is built vertically so as to use the space we have most effectively.
