Access to copy paper as a resource for a teacher sounds like it would be guaranteed but it is not. At my school site, I get two boxes of copy paper to start my year. Unfortunately, I also do not have consistent access to student laptops in the classroom. This leaves my instructional opportunities very limited. As a trained historian, the textbook should not be the sole pedagogical resource in the classroom. Additional texts and diverse perspectives are necessary for a well-rounded and culturally responsive history education. Access to copy paper will provide my students with opportunities to read different interpretations of history and critically analyze the world around them.
