These materials will make a difference in my students' learning by providing them some fun new toys to play with during Rainy Day Recess and Free Time. By playing with the Round the Town Rug and Car Set, my students can practice interacting with one another, sharing materials, and communicating which helps to develop their vocabulary. This helps them to become good readers and writers as their oral language skills support good literacy skills. These Imaginative Play items, like the Ice Cream Shop set, can also be used as a fun reward for kids who complete assignments and show good behavior. These items also give students opportunities to build friendships as they have fun playing together. Some of my students come from homes where there is not a lot of extra money for buying these types of toys. They will especially benefit from the opportunities these kinds of play sets provide for social skills. They will also learn responsibility as we will always take good care of the materials and learn to put things away neatly.
