For my project, I have requested multiple different flexible seating options for my classroom. These seating choices include bean bag chairs, exercise balls, and wiggle seats. All of these seating options should lead to more choice and empowerment in the classroom. Students are expected to sit in a chair for a large portion of a day - I want to change this. I don't know about anyone else, but as an adult I can't sit still now! Developmentally, 10 year-old students should have more choice and more options to help keep them engaged during lessons. I believe that giving the students options of other seating options will help them to focus and make better choices during the school day. Students will get to choose each day where they want to sit, which will lead to a more productive classroom environment.
