Kindergarten is an incredible year! Students begin the year learning letters and sounds and leave knowing how to read and write! This project will help me better serve my students by giving them developmentally appropriate materials to spark engagement and encourage continual growth. I want to instill the love of reading and writing in my students. Having a diverse classroom library that the students have access to allows students to choose books based on interest as well as reading level. Hands-on comprehension activities engage the body and mind as well as keep the students motivated and engaged. Having developmentally appropriate writing materials aids fine motor development and gives students ownership of their work.
