My special education students work hard to learn in the general education classroom. Sometimes they, as well as the regular education first graders, need to engage their senses to retain skills. These multi sensory activities will be used for differintiated instruction and reading interventions to help students master phonics skills and increase reading independence. The tactile sight words will be used to increase sight word recognition as well as muscle memory to form the letters correctly. The engaging games will make the practicing phonics skills more fun for my students! The games will also provide practice for social skills like turn taking and being a good sport.
