So much of a Kindergartner's life is decided for them. I would like to introduce flexible seating in my classroom so the students have a chance to make a decision about their learning on their own. I have an array of learners and flexible seating will meet so many of their educational and behavioral needs. Flexible seating is shown to help with attention, focus, engagement, and it helps students love learning! Flexible seating will help my nervous learners, my anxious learners, my behavior students, my sensory needs, my high learners, my low learners, and it will give my students a chance to take charge of their learning and shine. There will be many different seating options in my classroom. They will be able to use the ball chairs and the bullet chairs at a desk. This will be a good option or students that need some core support and still need a desk to stable them. For the students that decide that sitting closer to the ground is best for their learning, they will have the bean bags and the floor seats. They will be able to use these either at a lowered table or with one of the wooden lap desks. The wobble cousins would be used either on the floor or on a chair. These flexible seating options will give students a chance to gain an understanding of their learning; what do they need to do to get the most out of school. Flexible seating is an amazing way to address the diverse needs in a Kindergarten classroom.
