My students are learning about the economy through a financial literacy program that includes a classroom economy. These items encourage students to do their classroom job well to earn classroom money. It also encourages them to be on their best behavior so they can earn classroom money. Students use their classroom money to buy these items at auction each nine weeks. Students learn the value of working hard and being a productive member of society. They love seeing sneak peaks of auction items and being able to use the money they earn for a real-world item.
