As a special educator, I pull students in small groups to work on basic skills. Games and visuals help to engage them, but my students with attentional difficulties often rock their chairs during seat work. This habit is dangerous and distracting. I have tried chair bands, which break with frequent use. I have clipboards, so they could work while sitting on the floor, but I have no rug. Students who have the need to move, benefit from a learning space where they're free to do so. My vision is to offer flexible seating on a carpet or with wobble chairs that are both comfortable for older students, and reduce noise when students tap or wiggle in their seats.
