The iPad tablet I am requesting will serve to enhance student social/emotional learning (SEL) by tracking students' SEL progress. Students will be able to engage in activities on the iPad that will allow me to target areas that individual students need to work on. Although there are many ways to teach SEL skills in the classroom, using technology can be more engaging for students and help them work on several skills at once. Social and emotional learning is essential as it encompasses the core interpersonal, motivational, and emotional skills that students need to be successful in school and beyond. By focusing on SEL and how emotions can be understood and processed, new technologies change learning and prioritize life skills that can be carried throughout a student’s entire life. The technology creates an opportunity for intervention when needed and the ability to provide personalized emotional support to students, not to mention, any way to make screentime more constructive and educational is always a plus!
