But for children, play is serious learning.” Mr. Rogers Through play, children learn authentic reading and writing, develop number sense, conduct inquiry-based scientific experiments, and develop, practice, and master social skills. It is a crucial part of developmentally appropriate learning! “Play is the highest form of research .” Albert Einstein Our classroom needs to replace broken and outdated toys with new, exciting options. Many of the toys in our room are over 20 years old, and it shows! We need new, washable baby dolls to encourage dramatic play through role playing. Children love to act out family life, daycare and even school! Big trucks ignite delivery truck, construction site and garbage removal play. A fort-builder kit offers endless options for creativity and teamwork. My students will have many opportunities to use problem-solving strategies as they create together. My kindergartners would love to get some new tools to help them learn. Please help create the perfect Play To Learn space for my class!
