I have selected a number of diverse picture books to add to our class library. My students are working on improving their reading comprehension abilities and are learning about the world and where they fit. I want to add books to the class library that show the perspectives of people who may be different from the them. These books will give my students a good selection of reading materials about people who may be like them and people who are different while helping them improve their reading skills. Most picture books are written at a sixth grade reading level, they are great for getting students interested in reading, and they often teach valuable lessons.
