I strive to create a hands-on learning environment in which my students have opportunities to interact, create, discover, and challenge themselves. I also want students to work collaboratively and be able to persevere through difficult tasks. For this project, I am asking for help to purchase 8 Sphero Mini(s)to use in conjunction with the Sphero Education program. The Sphero Edu program is a STEAM-based toolset that weaves hardware, software, and community engagement to promote 21st-century skills. With 8 Spheros we should be able to work in the ideal groups of 3 students at a time. Start with Sphero, grow with Sphero. The Sphero Education program inspires the creators of tomorrow. Students of all levels can enjoy and use the Sphero. Beginners have opportunities to draw paths their robots can follow while more intermediate users will be able to code. Students will learn to love coding and overcoming obstacles during the process. We will use the Sphero to learn about angles, lines, speed, averages, and so much more. I am eager to see how our learning grows by implementing new technology.
