My students are eager to learn. They love working with mbaniplutives and it helps them gain hands on learning. During my math block I try to use manipulatives like fractions strips, counters, and base ten blocks when I can. We have to share manipulatives with other grades and sometimes they are not available. If I was able to have a class set it would help my students that struggle with auditory learning. Students can use math maniplutives to drive their own learning. I love to have my students discover a concept on their own. It helps them solidify a concept and helps them remember it in later grades. I also love to see the smile on the face of a student that is struggling and then use a concrete object and discover they can do math. This is why I am a teacher.
