The resources I have chosen will help my students get their wiggles out during class. Research has shown that students who are given options of where they sit, what they sit on, and the ability to move around as needed, gives them a stronger sense of ownership in their classroom. I have begun to implement flexible seating on a small scale, but I have many students who need more space and choices for movement. My hope is that students will be able to use these flexible seating options to worry less about being uncomfortable, and focus more on their learning. My class is quite the wiggly bunch, and I have noticed their discomfort can be a roadblock to their learning. With flexible seating, they will be able to wiggle around as needed, therefore encouraging their own growth. These seating accommodations will also encourage a more comfortable learning environment for all students in our classroom!
