Students deserve to feel comfortable in their learning environment. Currently, the carpet in our classroom cannot fit all of my students. I call my students to “meet me on the carpet” many times throughout the day where we all sit on the carpet together. During lessons, mini lessons, and especially during read alouds students will often have to squeeze onto our current carpet in order for them all to fit. Sometimes students will have to sit on the floor surrounding the carpet while others may sit at their desks. Students need room to be comfortable and I want a carpet in which my students will have a place to sit with a spot that is spacious and all their own.
