The toothpicks and glue I am requesting will make a difference in my student's learning by offering them the opportunity to learn about engineering and real-world math application. This hands-on experience will make learning more exciting and enjoyable for everyone. Elementary school is an excellent time for students to begin exploring challenging projects and using some of the skills they learn in class in a more practical way. This project will help students engage in a different approach to learning how to use the math and science skills they have learned in the classroom. This will put those skills to the test. They will be learning through trial and error and acting as if they were engineers in the real world tasked with building a bridge across a waterway.
