I teach letters and sounds as well as sight words through the use of the "Hear Myself Sound Phones" I ordered. What students hear in their head, they remember and internalize. As students read their own writing through use of the phones, they will recognize complete thoughts and hear the natural sentence breaks so they can learn to punctuate their own writing. I will read and discuss the books as a class; then students will do opinion writing, informational writing, and narrative writing based on what we have read. My students have wonderful ideas that they enjoy communicating to others. Their writing helps develop their reading skill, and the reading they do in turn develops their writing skill. I have tried to foster a love for learning, and one of the things I appreciate most about my students is their enthusiasm for life and learning.
