My students love to bring materials into our classroom from outside. They bring leaves, sticks, acorns and other natural materials. They also love to use the handheld magnifying glasses we have in classroom to take a closer look at items in the room. A real microscope will allow us to really get a good look at items and begin to learn about and inquire more about things work. Allowing our students to use real science tools with proper support will give them the confidence and knowledge to learn on their own and to think more deeply about the world around them.
