All students at MWS are in chorus. Supplying almost 400 students with sheet music is very time consuming, difficult and costly, but the lack of printed music in their hands makes describing musical concepts in their repertoire difficult. Technology is lovely, but with over 100 students in each chorus, seeing the SmartBoard is not always easy. With this mobile music whiteboard, students in chorus and in core music classes will be able to isolate and explore the musical concepts they are learning through the music they are performing. We would be able to avoid the hassle of writing sloppy staff lines over and over again! For example, if there is a difficult rhythmic passage in a song, students will be able to more easily dissect the rhythm by writing the rhythm out on the board and analyzing it.
