My students with ADHD feel empowered by having some degree of choice and control over their environment. Flexible seating allows students to choose where they work and with whom. It allows them to change their positions as needed. Flexible seating allows my students them to wobble, rock, bounce, lean or stand, which increases oxygen flow to the brain, blood flow and and core strength. In turn, this burns more calories and increases their metabolism. It will help my learner stay alert and focused, and in turn they will become more confident. The wobble stools will help the students stay seated, but have the sensation that they crave. The yoga ball will allow my students to bounce without the danger of falling out of a chairl. Along with ADHD comes along many sensory and emotional needs. Therefore, the sensory tools and flipbook will allow my students to be able to express their feeling and emotions without frustration.
