My students are working in an ELA elective to build literacy throughout the district. They are reading multicultural children's books that are also connected to bringing social-emotional learning into the classroom. As they read, they work to better understand who they are through writing and crafting, which is good for my auditory, visual, and kinesthetic learners. Once they are done, they bring the books to the elementary schools in the district and work on the same crafts! This is a lovely way to ensure that literacy and diversity are being celebrated in our district!

About my class
