Our special education students have been studying the Medieval Times period in their social studies and reading classes. They have been exploring this historical time period as well as dissecting nonfiction and fantasy texts based in the time period. They are so interested and invested in this unit of study! We employ a variety of learning strategies, such as project based learning, to meet the unique and diverse learning styles of these students. Along with project based learning, educational experiences are always great ways to enhance and engage them in what they are learning. Medieval Times allows them to experience what they have read and studied. This type of experiential learning is necessary to meet the needs and interests of our diverse learners.
