Background knowledge is the cheat sheet to learning. Students come in everyday with loads of background information that helps them when it comes to learning. I want to indirectly extend my students background knowledge with reading. Having a classroom library filled with rich content and exciting story lines will help my students build knowledge without even realizing it. The background knowledge my students gain from books will benefit them when it comes to our daily lessons. This will help my students grasp concepts much quicker and help them think beyond the surface. Not only will they be able to learn the content but they will be able to apply it to real life.

About my class
