My students are struggling to discover the message the author is trying to share. I have chosen some Newberry books such as The Hero and the Crown and Walk Two Moons to help them discover these messages. Newberry books are chosen for their message. Using these books will help them see that authors write books to help children become better people. Newberry books will help them become the people that will change the world. Once they find the message of the book they will be able to use those themes to improve their reading and their lives. I want to help them understand that books can be fun but also help them be a better part of their community.

About my class
