When students are sitting in the same desk for up to 7 hours a day, they can get very antsy! Providing flexible seating options in the classroom give students an opportunity to get out of their seats, move around the room, and work collaboratively. It also teaches them responsibility because when they choose flexible seating they choose where they sit around the room. I teach them how to make a smart choice when choosing a seat so they stay focused and don't get distracted by friends around them. My new students this year will be so excited to have new flexible seating available to them!
