Materials are selected to engage readers with a variety of genres in literature. These stories include classic novels, novels with diverse characters, and fictional stories that spurs students' imagination to go wild. Exposure to a diverse collection of books will provide students and opportunity to interact with different perspectives and themes. Ultimately the goal is to improve literacy skills that students so desperately need in the 21st century. These texts are handpicked and geared toward pulling in reluctant readers while also challenging gifted readers as they look a the way the language is used and the creativity of an author.

About my class
