The supplies I am requesting will create a calming environment for my students using sensory tools. There are tools listed to engage all of my student's senses and will create a safe and comfortable space to self-regulate. The bean bag chair and weighted items will give my students deep pressure to help organize their nervous system. The light projector gives off blue lighting, a calming color. All of these tools help them to self-regulate. We all process sensory input differently, and require different amounts of stimuli to get us through the day. A sensory room offers my students a supportive environment when they need a break from the overwhelming sensory stimuli in a classroom.
