My first-graders come to school eager to learn. They are energetic and fun; some have learning difficulties and some are very capable. My job is to keep all of them motivated and engaged with many parts of their brains so that they not only retain the information but can apply it to other situations. When we enjoy learning, we remember what we have been taught and are anxious to learn more.
