Students who are bound to wheelchair need to be repositioned multiple times a day in order to move their muscles, blood, and prevent bed sores. It is also common for students in wheelchairs to have some mental health concerns such as depression and anxiety due to the nature of their body. The weighted blankets and pillows will help my students with their anxiety while also meeting their repositioning needs. The lights are a great way to help the students in my classroom that need either visual stimulation due to positioning, or for those students with autism that need sensory breaks. Lastly, the whiteboards are here to help my students access their goal materials while working on academics. The small white boards will help us as teachers put the work into the eye line of those bound to wheelchair.
