My students are in a resource math class, meaning they are behind in math by at least two years (sometimes more). They use color all the time to help them with their math work. They are encouraged to highlight and draw pictures and models to help their thinking. Since my students all are visual learners, the addition of color to their work helps them process the information. Now that school is in full swing, noses are runny and sickness spreads. That is why I needs to extra tissues and disinfectant to help keep the classroom clean. Graph paper is so helpful when working in math. It helps my students create models and line up their numbers correctly. We eat breakfast in our classroom, and sometimes the napkins provided are not strong enough. I have requested some paper towels to help clean up bigger messes, such as spilled milk from cereal.
