Strong readers make strong people. I am requesting a grade level set of the novel Blood on the River. We use this as a novel study in 5th grade to develop both a love of history and reading in our students. Blood on the River is the most fictional accurate account of the settlement of Jamestown, and students absolutely love to listen to it. I want them to be able to get to a deeper level of understanding through holding and reading the text themselves. This book makes history come alive, and I want my students to experience Colonial America firsthand.
