Having all my students engaged at the same time is important when I'm teaching a lesson. The scientific calculators is one example of this engagement since they are main tools used in my pre-algebra class. These calculators will be used for students who can't afford their own or throughout the year or who have lost their original. The students use them to solve higher-order thinking questions and check their computations. They need the rulers because the regular wooden rulers break constantly. The electric sharpener will decrease time spent sharpening pencils since they can do so immediately as they enter the classroom. I want to ensure my students have the resources they need to complete their assignments without having to think about it. When they use the calculators they would be more comfortable with the functions, and better prepared when they take their state test. These are some of the reasons why I would love my students to have the things they need to accomplish their work.
